A joint report by NITI Aayog, TransUnion CIBIL, and MicroSave Consulting titled “From Borrowers to Builders: Women and India’s Evolving Credit Market” highlights that women are transitioning from basic financial access to becoming key drivers of the entrepreneurial economy.

- Women borrowers hold ₹76 lakh crore credit portfolio
- Share: 26% of total system credit
- Nearly 5-fold increase since 2017
Rapid Expansion in Business Lending:
- Business-purpose loans increased 7.5 times since 2017
- Now account for 25% of women’s total credit value
- Indicates shift from consumption to entrepreneurship
Improved Credit Penetration:
- Credit-active women increased from 19% (2017) to 36% (2025)
- Around 16 crore women borrowers are now active

India’s Quantum Communication Network (National Quantum Mission)

India, under the National Quantum Mission, has developed a 1,000 km quantum communication network within less than two years of its launch, ahead of its target of 2,000 km in eight years. The network was developed using indigenous technology by QNu Labs with support from the Department of Science and Technology.
