Hydroelectric Projects in Arunachal Pradesh

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved an investment of about ₹40,175 crore for two major hydroelectric projects in Arunachal Pradesh — the Kamala Hydro Electric Project (1,720 MW) and the Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project (1,200 MW).

Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project:
- Capacity: 1,200 MW
- Location: On Lohit River (tributary of Brahmaputra River)
- District: Anjaw
- Annual Generation: 4,853 million units
- Developed by: THDC Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited. India Limited + State Government (JV)
